This program conducts research, executes projects and programs on the living conditions of adolescents and young people, addressing the need for research and evaluation of programs in the field of public policies on youth, gender, and education, focusing on themes such as violence and coexistence in schools, structural racism, social inequalities, youth homicide, legal and illegal drugs, incarceration, and socio-educational measures based on the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It conceives of adolescents and young people not only as subjects of rights, but also as subjects of desire and potential, that is, possible actors of new rights. Thus, it develops, among other things, analyses on political-socio-cultural participation, sexuality, education and violence, as well as studies on violence in schools, qualification and job opportunities, government programs, gangs and drug trafficking \u2013 highlighting the interrelation between class, gender, generation, and development project models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two main axes guide the Program in relation to the training of educators, government managers, and agents in civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Youth Public Policies: This area deals with training courses (in person and EAD) for managers, especially in the field of adolescence and youth, operationalizing the public policy approach, considering diverse needs, the role of the State and other agencies, and young people as actors in development, both by accessing theoretical-methodological essays and the collection of national and international programmatic experiences that approach this perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Education: Specialization courses are developed and delivered in person and through distance learning (EAD) for teachers and other professionals who, in various settings, interact with adolescents and young people, such as in the fields of law, public safety, councils, and, of course, schools. Discussions on diversity, violence, and challenges in building school coexistence plans are highlighted. Production of pedagogical materials, scientific articles, books, and booklets. Participation in national and international seminars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
